Redmond’s newest cafe has gone viral, and for good reason.

The Screaming Parrots Cafe is a cute, bird-themed shop on Cleveland Street featuring dishes from local owner Yvonne Weng, who carefully honed her recipes over years living in inspirational big cities, from Guangzhou to New York.

The results of Yvonne’s recipes are unique and stunning— menu items like the Soufflé Pancakes, Creme Brûlée Crepe, and Pistachio Latte have gotten some serious attention on social media

Yvonne owns The Screaming Parrots Cafe with her partner, Mike Mahmoud, and together they named the cafe after their beloved pet birds. Mike is a fan of coffee while Yvonne prefers tea, so they crafted a menu that features both of their favorites. They source their tea from Japan, insisting on the highest quality possible. You can truly taste the difference— their matcha is some of the best we’ve ever had.

The Screaming Parrots Cafe is the perfect place to try something new, like Hojicha or Da Hong Pao tea. Savory food options like Onigiri and the Modern Shakshuka Crepe are different than typical cafe offerings, but prove to be instant classics.

True to its big-city inspiration, The Screaming Parrots is experimenting with late hours— something not always guaranteed in Downtown Redmond. Right now, the cafe is open seven days a week until 11pm.

Redmond Moments Recommends:

Strawberry Delight Souffle

Fluffy, airy pancakes, perfect not-too-sweet cream, and plenty of strawberry compote.

Banana Pudding

Light custard layered with fresh whipped cream, bananas, and vanilla wafers.

Modern Shakshuka

Crepe with garlicky tomato sauce, and two eggs with perfect, buttery yolks.

The Screaming Parrots Cafe is located at 16095 Cleveland Street, Suite 110 in Redmond, Washington.
